I slept at my sister's house last night so we could study for our History exam together ( and play vieogames, LOL ), and everything was normal, you know? We were in her room and Tyler was painting the ceiling that night and Kim was sitting around the kitchen . . . and everything was cool. Eventually Kim went to work at the firehall and Ty went home and me and Courtney went to bed.
Later on that night, sometime in the very early morning, I heard rustling in the house. But--I didn't think anything of it, you know? I mean, we all have keys to the house, and in my half-asleep state I just thought that, 'Oh, it's probably just Tyler,' and slipped back into sleep. I did have an exam the next morning that I needed rest for.
But when we woke up . . . Okay, Courtney's an early riser, always has been. I'm not. I can sleep through the frickin' apocolypse, so you can imagine that it takes me awile for to become aware of the world at six thirty in the morning. She bustling round in the kitchen making coffee . . . I could smell it from the bed. Then she came in all shaken and handed me the phone.
"Listen to that," she said. I did. What sounded like Mr. Rogers was talking on the answering machine about little boys and making popcon and the shiver his voice sent down my spine left me cold for a while. Courtney was looking at me with her big gold eyes and I told her it was just some idiot pranking the house. She didn't believe it. Kim came home soon after that, and it was then that I remembered the rustling I heard last night. I immeadiately told her what I heard. She started to panic, and Courtney came into the kitchen with the phone and told her to listen to the creepy messege. She did. And we called the cops.
There might be a stalker following the family around. The other day someone broke into Kim's truck, and they've been seeing a grey car around a lot. I'm worried. Courtney is just getting over the whole rape ordeal, and now this? It's not fucking fair--she's still so tender, you know? I told her I'd stay here from now on whenever Kim had to work night shifts, which made her feel a bit better. Thankfully both of us have been trained somewhat in martial arts, enough to hold our own, and we know how to use weapons--she has a couple of hunting knives she keeps in her room and I have a dagger in my house that I'll be bringing from now on, so we are not helpless. But I'm still worried. From now on I'll be getting up at night to make rounds around the house, just to make sure. We're going to have to be careful, though.
Despite the fear I feel about this whole thing . . . I'm still going be here for Courtney to watch over her. I'm not letting anyone hurt her again.
Just pray for us, yeah?
_______________*EDIT*_______________
Okay--turns out no one broke into the house. It was Donovon, Courtney's brother. Holy crap, that scared the SHIT out of all of us. Courtney is pissed the hell off. I am going to strangle that man.
But that still doesn't explain the grey car or the break in to Kim's truck. I still think something--someone is afoot. I'm not letting down my guard.
